COGS allows you can build and run your COGS Plus, Pro or Premium projects from a computer on the local network or over the internet.
Please note that COGS Lite cannot be accessed remotely, and COGS Plus cannot be access over the internet.

Local network access
- Create or open your project in COGS
- From the menu bar go to File → Settings... → Remote Access
or on macOS: COGS → Settings... → Remote Access - Use the "Local Network Access" URL shown on a browser from a computer on the same local network to connect to COGS.
Tip: If your network is private and secure you can disable "Remote access passcode" to shorten URL to make it easier to share/remember.
Remote network access
- Create or open your project in COGS
- In a browser, go to your COGS account
- Find the installation to connect to
- Click the remote icon to connect
Browser support
COGS Remote is supported in all up-to-date modern browsers but works best in Google Chrome / Chromium. We regularly test COGS Remote with:
- Google Chrome / Chromium
- Firefox
- Safari on macOS (Requires an extra authentication step)
Supports views
Your entire COGS project is shown by default, just as you would see in COGS.
The following partial views in COGS are supported by adding a suffix to the URL:

Troubleshooting
If COGS Remote is not loading for you:
- Check your are using a COGS license that supports remote access in your COGS account
In COGS you can see the license in use in Settings → Account - Restart COGS
For local network connections:
- Check you are connected to the same local network as the COGS host computer
- Check both computers have an IP address
For internet connections:
- Check you are connected to the internet
