RFID Reader channels use radio frequency to identify unique tags.
The status of each reader channel interacting with your chosen combination of tags is used as part of your WHEN: Values match in Behaviours in order to trigger actions.
You need to give tags your own unique identification to use the reader channels. You can do this with the RFID Master (see Programming RFID Tags)
Adding
- In Channels click 'Add channel' and select 'RFID Reader'
- Enter a name that you would like to call it
- You will be presented with the channel view
Current Value
- Shows what tag is currently being read by the reader
- These values will show the current status of a virtual or real channel
Settings
- Tag removal debounce - This controls the amount of time in milliseconds that the tag will show as present in COGS after it has been read and then removed from the reader. It can be used to prevent quick on/off readings in COGS if a tag is just on the edge of the readers antenna field.
-
Antenna strength - to adjust the read distance of the reader to the tag, move the slider.
- Low - a shorter read distance
- High - a longer read distance
Patching
- From here you can patch the channel to any available RFID Reader channels
- If it appears blank you need to create a box in devices in order to patch (see Adding boxes)
- You can also patch RFID channels in the device view (see Patching channels to the RFID Master)
